Meet the Fun 'ME' Behind the Therapy ChairI'm Eszter Kalman, and I'm not your typical psychotherapist. Sure, I've got the training and expertise, but I'm also all about bringing a dash of fun and relatability to the table. Originally hailing from Hungary, I've had the privilege of calling Spain, Italy, and now sunny San Diego, California, my home. When I'm not diving deep into the world of psychotherapy, I'm out and about exploring the stunning parks and beaches of this vibrant city. But when I'm not soaking up the SoCal sunshine, you'll find me traveling across the globe with my adventurous family. Now, let's get personal! Have burning questions about Gordon Ramsay? Well, you're in luck because I'm his self-proclaimed #1 fan! When I'm not glued to his culinary wizardry or diving into episodes of Shark Tank, you can catch me plugged into audiobooks and podcasts, always feeding my curiosity. And here's a little secret: my day doesn't officially kick off until I've had that steaming hot latte in hand. It's my morning ritual, my rocket fuel for the day ahead. And when my schedule allows (or when I make it a priority to treat myself right), you'll spot me on the yoga mat, finding zen, or strolling with my dog, clearing my mind one step at a time. Why am I telling you all this? Because therapy isn't just about the professional jargon and serious faces. It's about connecting with someone real, someone who gets the ups and downs of life, just like you. So, let's chat, laugh, and embark on this journey together – because therapy can be fun, personal, and oh-so-insightful. |
Meet Your Compassionate Therapist: Embracing Authenticity and EmpathyI'm not your run-of-the-mill Licensed Therapist; I'm genuine, approachable, and transparent. As a mother of two, I've weathered the storm of postpartum depression and anxiety firsthand. I understand that motherhood can often feel like a lonely journey, compounded by the weight of postpartum mental health challenges that can leave you grappling with guilt and self-doubt. But let me reassure you, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you. I stand as living proof that with the right support, you can find your way back to wellness. My personal journey inspired me to return to school and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, driven by a deep desire to assist other parents facing similar struggles. I firmly believe that therapy should be far from a clinical, sterile experience – that sounds downright dreadful. Instead, it should be a warm, nurturing space where you can be your authentic self. In addition to my professional journey, where I have worked with individuals facing various challenges, from trauma and severe mental illness to depression, anxiety, and the hardships of grief and loss, I've also proudly volunteered with Postpartum Support International and the Postpartum Health Alliance of San Diego for many years. I'm also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), a powerful therapeutic approach that works wonders for trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, low self-esteem, and the emotional scars left by painful memories. If traditional talk therapy hasn't quite unburdened you, EMDR might be the transformative key you're seeking. Moreover, I hold a Perinatal Mental Health Certification through Postpartum Support International, ensuring that I'm well-equipped to support you during your perinatal journey. Rest assured, I accept various insurance providers, including United Health Care, Optum, Aetna, Oxford, Blue Shield Blue Cross of Massachusetts. In addition to English, I'm fluent in both Spanish and Hungarian, bridging language barriers to ensure everyone's comfort and understanding. In our therapeutic journey together, I'm here to offer you a unique blend of compassion, experience, and a heartfelt commitment to your well-being. Let's embark on this path toward healing, together. |
